A guest review

This was just as good as we hoped in every way. The Cottage so well kept and inspiring inside. The garden a delight. Everything ready and clean for us thanks. The location very special!

About the property

Discretely tucked away, yet just around the corner from Tighnabruaich’s Bistro, shops and Hotel, Corran Cottage has the advantage of being screened by a trim hedge as well as having great views down the West Kyle towards the island of Inchmarnock.

The property

This is an ideal cottage for the small family or two couples to get away to the peace & quiet. It is comfortably and stylishly furnished and the patio doors do just that – they open on to the patio which has steps down to the lawned gardens and with views over to Bute.

Within easy walking distance of the village which has a shinty pitch, tennis court & sailing school with dinghy sailing courses.  There are wonderful walks and cycle trails right from the door and a popular 9 hole golf course with some of the best views in Scotland. Fishing boat trips can be also be arranged. The nearby Kilbride Bay with its large sandy beach is a popular summertime destination and the road north from Tighnabruaich is one of the most beautiful in Argyll with its wonderful viewpoint looking over the Kyles of Bute. A ferry from Portavadie will take you to the picturesque fishing village of Tarbert on the Kintyre Peninsula which offers seafood and stunning coast line.  The Isle of Bute is also only a short ferry trip away with many places of interest including Rothesay and its ruined castle and the gothic structure of Mount Stuart House.

What the guests say

As good as we hoped This was just as good as we hoped in every way. The Cottage so well kept and inspiring inside. The garden a delight. Everything ready and clean for us thanks. The location very special! The village , the Kyle and its activities at this time of the year. Trips to Bute, Dunoon and Inveraray all fabulous although a fair bit of driving. All in all if you want a real special Scottish remote village feel it’s fabulous and yet you have little shops and cafes and bars etc. Plus our
