Location and outside space

Jenny’s Bay sits in an elevated position within a large enclosed space. No garden as such as the outside space around the house has been designed for outdoor socialising in a patio area. The patio is enclosed and is suitable for young children and a dog. There is a custom built BBQ area. The hot tub, with a loch view, is under a gazebo making it perfect for all year use. You have access to the shoreline as well as a jetty. Bring your canoe, kayak or a trailer sized boat as you can launch them right from the property. Bring your binoculars. Depending on the time of year the gannets put on a marvellous display diving for fish and you can look out for seals, which are common. Porpoises are regular visitors and in the last two years there have been sightings of what is believed to have been minke whale. You might just get lucky. No matter what, you’re in a perfect spot to look out for them. Loch Goil is a tidal sea loch so depending on the tide there will be a shore line to explore. This is a rural location – you will need a car. There is a taxi service in the village.

Access and entry

Off Road parking for 3 cars. Steps down to the entrance, as well as sloping access. Jennys’ Bay is suitable for any guest with poor mobility.

Hot Tub

No doubt about it, the hot tub takes what is already a great holiday home, to another level. Under a gazebo on a spacious patio, the tub has 6 seats plus a lounger, as well as mood lighting and MP3 music hook-up.  A nice touch is the individual bathrobes and slippers, ideal for going too and from the hot tub. The tub is fully serviced for each arriving party.

  1. “Weekend Break!”

Stayed here with a group of 7 other friends for weekend away. Had a great time! Jenny’s Bay is a great house.

The house itself has everything you can imagine. Fully kitted kitchen (and I mean fully kitted – even champagne buckets are there for use!!), a massive TV, bathrobes for the pool & a pool table… We were certainly not bored.

We were the first people to stay in the property so there were a few minor issues but the guys at Jenny’s Bay were so quick to fix everything.

The hot tub was just amazing, we spent most of the weekend in there! 🙂

Remember to bring midge repellant as we got eaten alive!

Would defo return! Thanks for having us!

  2. “Excellent Property...... 5 star facilities and warm and helpful owners.”

Just visited Jenny’s bay and had a great holiday. As was with 2 teenagers they were well entertained with the outdoor hot tub , pool tables and huge flat screen TV. The owners and their sons were extremely helpful and caring. The local leisure club was and added benefit as lots of activities for all 4 of us. Would recommend this place to all those looking for a large 4 bed house with families.

Process of booking easy from start to completion. Met by the owner who had the house lovely and warm for us when we arrived at 7pm. The house has certainly got the wow factor !! The views from the house are breathtaking and the house lovely, well equipped with everything and more you could ever need. The massive hot tub was the icing on the cake !! If you are looking for a catch up with family and friends then this is the place for you. Unwind, whilst soaking in the hot tub and enjoying the beautiful views from the conservatory.
    Tips for other travellers
We actually enjoyed just lazing about the house, using the hot tub, playing pool, table tennis and games. Drimsynie estate is about a 5min drive away if you want some lunch, dinner or snacks. Good for kids too as it has a pool, amusements and soft play area. Pub and entertainment also for adults. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day on Sunday and took a short drive to Carrick Castle to relax and take in the fantastic views. Rest, relaxation, good company, food and drinks are certainly on the menu here. Good idea to bring food with you. There is a small cost cutters in estate but with limited choice.

Two days doing nothing but enjoying the environment, walking and hot tubbing.

Jenny’s Bay was perfect. The house was very comfortable, equipped to a very high standard and very very clean.

    Great value all round!!

  6. The house itself was extra special

Email from a guest who left on Feb 15, 2016

Hi Leonard: It was thoroughly enjoyable doing nothing for two whole days. Wonderful walks and views. Fabulous hot tub which we spent hours in. The house itself was extra special and the conservatory perfect for my mum. She is 92 and very mobile so sitting in the conservatory looking at the view and watching the loch was fabulous for her. Thank you for an efficient service

  7. Excellent accommodation

Excellent accommodation, very well furnished and equipped. Décor very pleasing, clean and tasteful. Hot tub, barbecue, even in the rain was fantastic. Dining table/pool table/ table tennis great idea. Location on the loch couldn’t better with stunning views. Easy access to Lochgoilhead, with beautiful walks in surrounding area. Owners were excellent, when electricity went out due to a storm they were on site within minutes resolving the issue. We will be back.

    Comments about this property
Absolutely beautiful house in stunning location. We do a group getaway every winter and this has been the best by far. Will definitely be back
    Tips for other travellers
No needs to stuff your case bringing tea towels, bath towels, washing up liquid etc as its all there. Even coffee and teabags. Lots of great walks in the area too so I recommend getting the walking guide from Leonard at Lochgoil holidays when you book.

  10. Second year our party has stayed

    Comments about this property
This is the second year our party has stayed for a long weekend break at Jennys Bay in November and will be booking again for next year as we love it. We love the accommodation and the location.

  11. “Very Good”

The location of this large house is on the Loch itself (Loch Goil) and the views are unreal. The area is very remote and private which is perfect if you want peace and quiet. The house is nice inside with 4 good sized bedrooms, good kitchen, good living area and excellent hot tub over looking the loch. It is well equipped with everything you need inside. For the cost this is 10/10 and probably a bit underpriced in my opinion. The only negatives for us and maybe people with kids are, it is very remote indeed and not much to do in the area. I cannot give it 5/5 on here as the location was a bit too remote and quiet for us, but anyone who wants peace and amazing views, you must go.

    Managers reply:
What a great review. Appreciated. Remote – Jenny’s Bay is 2 miles to the boat hire, 3 miles to the golf course, leisure centre, restaurants and entertainment, 4 miles to the village where there are 2 other pubs & restaurants. There are a number of great walks nearby. You do need a car to make the most of your time in this area but there is a great choice of things to do nearby.

  12. “Brilliant”

Hi stayed at Jennys Bay for 4 nights great time quite and peaceful hot tub great Adeline and Calum were great allowed us to bring our cat first cat that has been there he love the large windows great facilities and plenty room .excellent view my mum loved sitting looking out the windows .also Nico loved the conservatory. We will definitely go again.

  13. “Spacious cottage with beautiful views”

My friends and I had a girly weekend in this cottage. It has plenty of space, amazing views and comes packed with everything you could need, even a jacuzzi. Make sure you buy your food before you get there as the only shop in the village is a small costcutter and the nearest supermarket is an hours drive away. It’s a great retreat to spend time with friends, and a good base for local walks. The cottage comes with a great welcome pack with plenty of information of pubs to visit and walks to go on. We can’t wait to go back.

  14. “Breath taking views ”

Stayed here over Easter weekend had a great experience and lovely time the setting is stunning onto the loch we came with 2 families 4 adults 4 kids kids loved the hot tub so did adults owners were really helpful on arrival and only stay nearby if you need them will go back 1 day in future as we enjoyed so much the only thing to watch is for slips coming out of hot tub but that didn’t spoil a really relaxing break loved it.

  15. “Absolutely amazing!!”

Amazing place, would go back tomorrow, lovely owners very friendly and approachable!! Fantastic stay over all.

  16. “Perfect!”

My family and I stayed at Jenny’s Bay for the weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. The weekend was perfect.
We stay away a lot as a family and the whole family agreed that this was the best trip we have ever had. The hot tub was absolutely amazing and it’s position allowed us to enjoy the spectacular views that come with this property. The house itself was lovely and we really enjoyed the open plan living/dining with the added bonus of snooker and table tennis on the dining room table. All of the bedrooms were lovely and spacious and all the little home comforts made the stay all the more enjoyable. The owner was lovely and friendly and we were really touched when she charged up a toy sports car for my nephews to have a shot of! We also ventured across to the squirrel walk she kindly suggested and enjoyed some more views of the loch with our 2 dogs.
Our weekend stay was perfect and we will definitely be going back. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

  17. “Brilliant”

Just back from a 3 day stay. Ian welcomed us on arrival to show us to work hot tub etc. Which was a nice touch. Very private and lovely surroundings will definite return. Home from home comforts.

  18. “Very relaxing stay at a great property”

We spent 4 nights here in September and really enjoyed it. The property fully met our expectations and the excellent hot tub and pool table were used daily! Booking through Loch Goil Holidays was easy, and we met the owners a couple of days into our visit when they very kindly offered us a trip on their boat, which was a lovely touch.

This is an ideal location if you want to get away from it all, especially as you are right on the loch with such stunning scenery. There is also an excellent holiday village within a 10 minute drive (Drimsynie) which has a supermarket, bar, restaurants, entertainment and sports facilities which can be accessed even if you’re not staying there. Everything else is much further away, so this would probably be best for people looking for some rest and relaxation.

The only slight issue we had was that the outside bins were full from before we arrived. We mentioned it to the owners when we saw them since we couldn’t split the recycling and had to put everything into one bin and they were very apologetic; I think this had just been an oversight as they had also been away at the beginning of our holiday. Not a major problem.

  19. “Beautiful”

Our stay Jenny’s Bay was lovely. The house was just perfect,we had my boy little with us and he loved the space he could play with his toys. Great spacey rooms and brilliant dinner / living area. The men loved the pool table used it every night! Everyone loved the hot tub it’s a great add on to the house. The view from the house is beautiful. Hired a fishing boat not far from the house and was defiantly worth it!! Caught lots of fish and seen different types of wildlife and places. My little boy loved going out on the boat. He could of drove it all day if we let him!! We will defiantly be back!! Had a great 4nights in this stunning home away from home! (Weather was a bonus and only 1 night of midges) 🙂

  20. “Beautiful house in amazing location”

5 of 5 starsReviewed 2 weeks ago for a stay in September 2014
Spent a weekend at Jenny’s Bay with friends and had an amazing time. The house is beautiful and I can’t think of anything they hadn’t thought of. Such a peaceful location and the house is very spacious. Very easy booking process and Leonard who I dealt with was very helpful and made the process very easy. We will hopefully return to the lovely Jenny’s Bay in the not too distant future.

  21. “One of the most picturesque locations and beautiful holiday homes we have stayed in”

We stayed for a week at Jenny’s Bay as a large family with 2 dogs. The home was full of lots of personal touches and the home owners’ made us feel very welcome and even took us out on the loch on their boat! The location offers spectacular views and despite having rain most of the week, it did not dampen our stay. Would highly recommend this holiday home to others and we hope to return in the future.

  22. “Fabulous bungalow on the shores of a stunningly beautiful secluded loch”

Simply perfect! Jenny’s Bay is a delightful bungalow about 2 miles from the village of Lochgoilhead, down a narrow single track road (plenty of passing places!) that runs down the west side of the loch. Loch Goil is stunning – it has a couple of caravan parks at the head of the loch, with spectacular views on to the village and over the water. It’s a place many people miss as they drive north from Loch Lomond over ‘Rest and Be Thankful’ – their loss!

The house in Jenny’s Bay is brilliant – four large bedrooms 2 twin, 2 double) with plenty of cupboard and shelf space, 2 bathrooms, large kitchen, a large dining room/lounge (table seats 8 easily, and doubles up as pool table) with huge TV, plenty of seating, and lovely sun lounge overlooking the loch. It’s all been beautifully refurbished this year, so in fantastic condition. Outside there’s a patio and veranda running round the house, with a brilliant hot tub overlooking the loch, dining table, and a barbecue (which we didn’t use much because of the weather!). My father is disabled, but this wasn’t a problem – good wheelchair access from the loch-side door, and everything on one level inside. Great for pets too – they kindly agreed to let us have two dogs there.

The owners, Adeline and and Callum, live close by and made our stay extra special, looking on on us at regular intervals to make sure all was well, answering our questions, and even taking us out on the loch one evening in their boat – certainly a level of care that goes above and beyond the call of duty!

The area is outstanding – we saw porpoises and seals from the house most days, gannets fishing almost constantly in and around the bay, and there are lovely walks from the house to Carrick Bay and various other beauty spots. We fished from the jetty in front of the house – variable results, but on one notable morning, three of us caught 21 mackerel in just over an hour (we ate them later that day!).

Plenty to do in the area – we hired motor boats from Loch Goil cruisers on several occasions – Bill, the owner, is another delightful character! He’ll even smoke mackerel that you catch (taking a fair share for himself of course!).

The village of Lochgoilhead is beautiful – lovely church (Church of Scotland – we went on the Sunday morning), two excellent pubs/restaurants, and various other activities. Easy access to Loch Lomond, Dunoon, Inveraray and various other towns on the west coast.

We booked through Lochgoilhead Holidays – Leonard Gow is the manager, and was a brilliant source of information in the days and weeks leading up to our arrival. He has prepared a series of very helpful documents covering different aspects of staying in the area (activities to do, places to eat, walks etc) – a mine of useful information.

We would definitely go back – even though the weather wasn’t great for us the two weeks we were there, but we were never at a loose end for things to do. Highly recommended.

  23. Absolutely stunning accommodation

“Absolutely stunning accommodation and views. Fantastic peaceful location and a first class stay, enjoyed by all the family. We will definitely be back!”

  24. Stunning location and superb accommodation with a welcoming personal touch from the owners.

Left on Apr 12, 2016 for a stay in Apr 2016
Our family party enjoyed a great 3 night short break in Jenny’s Bay. The facilities are first class and provided plenty to cater for all age groups. Everything in the accommodation was immaculate and all that we needed to bring with us was food and drink. The location on Loch Goil, provides stunning views of the loch and the local wildlife, the local seals were great entertainment. I would highly recommend this to anyone. We will definitely be back.

  25. Great location and stunning scenery

Left on Aug 9, 2016 for a stay in Jul 2016
Loved the open plan bungalow, plenty of space. Hot tub was brilliant, lovely walks and scenery was spectacular. Kids and adults played pool which was great. Sitting in the conservatory just chillin is something I will miss. Loved the walks with my dog Darcy and so did she! Would definitely go back. Thanks again Callum and Adeline for taking us out on your yacht, something to remember.

  26. Beautiful place, fabulous hot tub

Left on Sep 14, 2016 for a stay in Aug 2016
Stayed here August 27th to September 3rd 2016. Beautiful place, fabulous hot tub checked daily for safety. Fabulous time with the grandkids loves well worth it if only for the views quiet remote but that’s what we wanted. Would highly recommend it for a peaceful relaxing holiday with some amazing scenery.

  27. A little piece of Paradise

WOW. A little piece of Paradise with a capital P. Set beside Loch Goil, with a mountain back drop, with the accommodation top notch, spaceous and comfy. Add to that the friendly Adeline who lives close by to welcome you and show you around, so you can settle right in. The jacuzzi was heaven, we made use of the pool table, table tennis and Chess. Its Close ( ten mins) to two pubs that do good food or the local golf club / holiday resort with an indoor pool, spa treatments and activities…. The surrounding beauty of the Argyle national park mesmerising with plenty of outdoor activities for those wanting action. We have stayed in many cottages throughout the UK, but this is second to none for the high standard of accommodation, cleanliness ,friendlyness and beautyness : ) Thanking you for sharing this wonderful home.

  30. Beautiful Jenny's Bay

Left on Feb 27, 2017 for a stay in Feb 2017
Jenny’s Bay is a beautiful well equipped and comfortable luxury bungalow in the most idyllic location overlooking Lochgoil. Everything you could possibly want for a completely relaxing holiday. The hot tub is absolutely fantastic even when it’s blowing a hooley and pouring rain as it’s under cover. It’s actually quite therapeutic sitting in the hot tub and watching the weather and the awesome landscapes. We would highly recommend for couples or a larger family group. Preorder all groceries on line from Asda to arrive when you do and you’re all set. A car is definitely good if you want to take in the beautiful surrounding countryside but it is possible to get there by bus from Helensburgh. Buses pass the door regularly and you can ask the driver to stop. Hope to return

My family and I recently spent a weekend at Jenny’s Bay and, despite the rain, we had an amazing time. The house was very homely and we had lots of fun playing pool and table tennis and we especially loved the hot tub. The location is fantastic overlooking the loch with lots of nice walks close to hand. Adeline made sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful house to anyone looking for a relaxing break away.
