What a pleasure it has been to populate this section of the website. Lochgoilhead and the Cowal Peninsula is simply sensational for walking. These are the walks and hikes that don’t usually make it into the printed guides. These are the ones that you may well stumble across when you are here, but with a bit of knowledge before you arrive, you can plan in advance. My approach isn’t so much as to give you the, turn left, walk 3 miles and then turn right instructions. These walks are to give you a flavour of what to expect, even to inspire. You have the option to print a .pdf on each walk. There is the story of the family from London, who, having never been to Scotland before, called in advance asking for directions up the Cobbler. Seems they had only street shoes and had never been hill walking, but, they were determined. They stopped on the way north to buy walking shoes. The first part of their week was spent on local walks - but they did make it up the Cobbler, and it was fantastic to share in the enjoyment of their achievement. Pick a walk and do it. And them come back and pick another. Enjoy.
